Protecting your personal data matters to us. This privacy notice explains what data is processed when you visit the MelideICE website, for what purpose and what rights you have.
Who is responsible
The controller is the Municipality of Melide, Via S. Franscini 6, 6815 Melide, Switzerland, e-mail cancelleria@melide.ch, phone +41 91 640 10 70.
Processing is governed by the Ticino cantonal law on the protection of personal data (LPDP) and, where applicable, by the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).
In short
- You can visit the website without providing any personal data.
- No cookies are set for visitors and we do not use any advertising tracking tools.
- Visitor statistics are anonymous and stay on our own server.
- All data is stored in Switzerland and is never sold or passed on to third parties.
Data collected during your visit (server logs)
To keep the website running and protect it against misuse and attacks, the server automatically records some technical data with each request: IP address, date and time, page requested, referring page, browser type and operating system. This data is used solely for security and troubleshooting, is not combined with other data and is deleted automatically after 14 days at most.
Visitor statistics
To understand which information is most useful and to improve the website, we use Umami, statistics software installed on our own server. Umami does not use cookies and does not store the full IP address: it anonymously records the pages visited, the referring page, the device type, the browser, the language and the approximate country. It is not possible to identify you and the data is not shared with anyone.
If the "Do Not Track" option is enabled in your browser, your visit is not counted.
Contact by e-mail or phone
If you write to us or call us, we use your details (for example name, e-mail address and the content of your message) only to answer your request. We keep them for as long as needed to deal with it and in line with the Municipality's archiving rules. Please note that unencrypted e-mail is not a secure means of communication: do not send confidential information this way.
Event photographs
Photographs published in the gallery may show visitors to MelideICE. If you recognise yourself in a photo and would like it removed, write to cancelleria@melide.ch and we will remove it as soon as possible.
Links to social media and third-party websites
The website contains plain links to our social media profiles and to sponsors' websites, without embedded buttons or content. No data is sent to these platforms unless you click a link; from then on, the terms and privacy policy of the platform you visit apply.
The website's fonts, images and scripts are loaded from our own server: while you browse, your browser does not contact any third-party services.
Editors' area
The people who manage the website's content have a personal account. For them we process name, e-mail address, password (stored only in encrypted form) and the date of changes, solely for the purpose of managing the website. Password-reset e-mails are sent via the Municipality's mail server.
Where data is stored
The website, database, statistics and backups are located on a server in Switzerland (Infomaniak Network SA, Geneva). No data is transferred abroad. Backups are deleted automatically after 14 days.
Your rights
You can ask at any time which personal data we process about you, have it corrected or deleted and object to its processing, within the limits set by law. To exercise these rights, write to cancelleria@melide.ch or to the Comune di Melide, Via S. Franscini 6, 6815 Melide.
If you believe your data is not being processed correctly, you can contact the cantonal data protection officer of the Canton of Ticino.
Changes
This privacy notice may be updated, for example when new features are added to the website. The version published on this page applies; in case of discrepancies, the Italian version prevails.
